Narration
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا أَتَاهُ الْأَمْرُ يَسُرُّهُ قَالَ:
When something pleased the Prophet, he would say:
When something pleasing happens
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي بِنِعْمَتِهِ تَتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتُ
When something displeasing happens
Narration
وَإِذَا أَتَاهُ الْأَمْرُ يَكْرَهُهُ قَالَ:
When something displeased him, he would say:
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ
Transliteration
When something pleasing happens
Al-ḥamdu li-llāhi alladhī bi-niʿmatihi tatimmu aṣ-ṣāliḥāt
When something displeasing happens
When something displeased him, he would say:
Al-ḥamdu li-llāhi ʿalā kulli ḥāl
Translation
When something pleasing happens
All praise is for Allah, by whose grace good things are brought to completion.
When something displeasing happens
When something displeased him, he would say:
All praise is for Allah in every circumstance.
